North Berwick is a very pleasant seaside town with lovely sandy beaches, coastal scenery and the Scottish Seabird Centre. North Berwick is under an hour east of Edinburgh. There is a small harbour filled with fishing boats and there are two sandy beaches which are very popular. There are lots of interesting, quaint shops and of course local ice cream is available. There are two putting greens and several golf courses in the area. The coastal scenery is stunning in both directions and there is the Bass Rock, home to one million gannets who come to breed each year.
