This is our family croft cottage in Culduie, a small hamlet of ten houses on the peninsula of Applecross, Wester Ross, in the Highlands of Scotland. The cottage, 'number 2' Culduie, has been in the Gillies family since 1837.

It is comfortably furnished and enjoys stunning views across the Inner Sound towards Raasay, Rona and the magnificent Cuillin hills on the Isle of Skye. It is situated in its own secure grounds and is surrounded by open croft land. There are excellent walks, suitable for all levels of fitness, from the doorstep. There are a number of beautiful sandy and coral beaches nearby. The area supports a wealth of wildlife and birdlife, including red deer, otters, pine martins, cuckoos, and golden eagles. Seals can be found in permanent residence in the bay at the bottom of the croft.

Applecross is perfect for walking, climbing, sailing, canoeing, loch and sea fishing, birdwatching, picnics, and generally relaxing and watching the view. It is accessed by the magnificent Bealach na Ba (Pass of the Cattle) which lays claim to being the highest mountain pass in the British Isles. The village of Culduie is just 3 miles from Applecross village, where there is a general store, with petrol pump and post office, the Flower Tunnel bakery and cafe, the famous Applecross Inn, winner of several food awards, and the Potting Shed Cafe & Restaurant recently listed number 10 in the top fifty places to eat in Britain for under £50 (number 2 for romance!)

Electricity is included in the price.

I offer high quality bed and breakfast in Applecross, a beautiful setting in Wester Ross in the Highlands of Scotland. The scenery is stunning with its rugged mountains, sandy beaches, peaceful deep lochs and little crofts. It has an abundance of wild life including sea birds, red deer and otters.

The tastefully decorated bedroom has a kingsize bed (or 2 singles) and is en-suite with a roomy shower and full size wash basin. The bathroom has porcelain tiles with under floor heating.

For your luxury and comfort all the bed linen is 100% cotton and washed in Ecover products. The room has Sky television, Wifi, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer and should the nights get chilly, electric blankets.

I like to anticipate what will enhance your experience so the house is always warm with a calm, relaxed environment. The food is of a high standard with local and organic ingredients and a good Scottish Breakfast should sustain you for the rest of the day! Special dietary requirements are happily considered.

I welcome all people irrespective of their race, creed or sexual orientation.

As there is a house cat I'm afraid pets cannot be welcomed.
