Chris and Linda extend a warm welcome to you to the delighful village of Twynholm (David Coulthard country) nestled in the Dumfries and Galloway border region near Kirkcudbright. The perfect place for painting and fishing.
We have three comfortable recently refurbished bedrooms all with TV, music centre, drink making facilities, bathrobes, complementary toiletries and chocolate. Wireless Internet access available. A full traditional breakfast is offered, with a vegetarian option and home made refreshments served on arrival.
Dumfries and Galloway has a range of outdoor pursuits within easy reach. Evening meals can be taken at the local inns within easy walking distance.

Clauchan Cottage, Carsluith is a typical detatched Galloway cottage for 2 people with panoramic views from both the house and garden across Wigtown Bay and Estuary to Garlieston and Wigtown.
Situated in an elevated position on the ourskirts of Creetown, with a Cottage garden to the front, and additional seating area on a higher level, great for watching the sunset! Private parking.
The cottage is single storey - all on one level with gas central heating and comprises of cosy lounge with views across the bay, with gas fire, digital colour television with DVD/CD player, radio, binoculars, boardgames table, with games, books and DVDs.
There is a fully equipped kitchen/diner with dual aspect over the garden and bay, with dining table and chairs electric cooker, fridge freezer, microwave, toaster and washing machine.
The bathroom has a traditional suite with shower over the bath.
The small hall leads to the bedroom with large double bed, dressing table, chest of drawers and wardrobe.
At the rear of the cottage is a lockable bicycle store.
'Welcome Pack' on arrival.
Clauchan Cottage is ideal for sandy beaches, sea and mountains, local walks, signposted cycle routes, historic castles, museums, art galleries, birdwatching, fishing (sea and river), local botanical gardens and miles of beautiful coastline leading to the Mull of Galloway.
Normally bookings are taken Saturday to Saturday, However short breaks can be booked at any time - please ask.

The cottages are all built in the natural stone of the area. They have been converted out of the old part of the farm steading to form seven properties sleeping from two - six people. The properties are all done to a high standard and the woodwork, doors etc. are decorated with an antique pine finish and fitted with old fashioned door latches (sneks).
A number of properties ranging from studio flats suitable for two to larger three bedroomed cottages sleeping six.
We are a working farm that nestles in the Girthon Valley surrounded by some of the best scenery in Galloway, good walking both woodland and coastal. You can just leave your car and walk from your doorstep. Ideal for spending a little time on your own.
Gatehouse of Fleet is about 2 1/2 miles from Clauchan Cottages. It has four hotels where you can have lunch, or eat in the evening. The Murray Arms Hotel at the clock tower, or the Masonic Arms just past the Murray Arms and pets are welcome in the Masonic Arms.

The Murray Arms Hotel's rich history has been at the forefront of its subsequent refurbishments, with all of its character retained and many of the traditional features remaining. Care has been taken to combine up-to-date facilities required by today's discerning visitor and the charm of years gone by.
The hotel has twelve fully equipped bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, and three dining rooms serving local fare. One of these, The Lunky Hole, is open all day, offering a wide range of hot and cold snacks and meals. We are a working farm with sheep, horses, hens, pedigree Galloway cattle, working dogs and we also run a trout fishery and pheasantry. There are two cottages as follows:
1. The Mill is arranged practically upside down from a conventional cottage. Access is upstairs through a large patio door onto the first floor where the living room, kitchen and one twin bedroom is located, and downstairs is a further triple bedroom, bathroom and utility room. Cots and additional full size folding beds can be supplied on request.
All modern conveniences have been carefully added to the Mill but it still maintains very much its own character and the views from the patio and the windows are exceptional.
2. The Lodge cottage was once the Granary and bothy for the farm and has been carefully and sympathetically converted into a very comfortable cottage containing all modern day conveniences but with an old world character.
The Lodge has four permanent beds in two large bedrooms, cots and additional full size folding beds can be supplied on request.
The views from both cottages are stunning.
Heating is by oil and there are radiators in every room, supplementary heating by electric radiators is available if required.
Car parking is available outside the cottages in a private area set aside for this purpose.
