Aviemore and the Cairngorms are synonymous with winter sports - predominantly skiing - but there is much to see and do all year round. The newly constructed Cairngorm funicular railway can take you to within a short distance of the mountain's summit, winter and summer, and there are plenty of activities on offer. The popular TV series 'Monarch of the Glen' was filmed on location around Ardverikie House on Loch Laggan and in the surrounding area. The stunning scenery is there for all to discover.
