This romantic Isle of Skye hideaway, set in 2 acres of grounds, has magnificent views over the Sound of Sleet and glorious sunsets are a frequent bonus. In addition, its proximity to the Skye Bridge and Armadale Ferry port means that seclusion need not mean remoteness from the mainland.

There's plenty to explore on the island and in summer guests can take a trip on the exclusive hotel yacht - Solus na Mara - personally crewed by the owners. Daily sailing excursions from May to September include lunch on board and the chance to go Whale and Dolphin spotting or Island hopping.

The bedrooms at the hotel are individually decorated with beautiful fabrics and wall coverings and have either brass or sleigh beds made up with crisp linens. Each room has ensuite bathrooms with power shower, some also have bathtub, and all come supplied with luxurious Arran Aromatic toiletries.

The chef uses only the finest and freshest local ingredients to create the fabulous, four course, and fine dining menus with imaginative dishes that have earned Toravaig House its coveted 2 AA Rosettes. The Skye Seafood and Highland Lamb, beef and game are succulent and organic vegetables are prepared to perfection. Lunches and afternoon teas are another treat; in fact food is available most of the day at this little boutique hotel with its well earned reputation for fine food.

With stunning views over the sound of Sleat and mainland mountains beyond, Duisdale House Hotel is perfectly positioned for exploring the romantic Isle of Skye. Built as a hunting lodge for the Clan Macdonald family in the 1860's, Duisdale sits in its own grounds of 30 acres which include lush, sleepy gardens and extensive ancient woodlands. The hotel itself has recently been completely refurbished and is now a stylish, contemporary, retreat. Beyond its stone and slate exterior lie many original features; the original fireplaces, beautiful staircase and ornate ceiling cornices, which all blend perfectly with the hotel's new dramatic, chic interior.

Luxurious, contemporary fabrics and wall coverings together with chic new furniture combine to create the perfect backdrop for the extensive a la carte menu, where each dish is creatively prepared mainly using fresh Island produce - all with a contemporary twist of course! Skye Seafood including langoustines and scallops, lamb, beef, organic vegetables and salad leaves are all skilfully prepared by the talented kitchen brigade.

Feature and four-poster beds make up the eighteen, mainly double bedrooms, each one unique in design and layout. With the emphasis on romance and luxury, sensuous Arran Aromatic Toiletries, thick fluffy towels and crisp bedding all complete the luxurious package.

Exclusive daily sailing trips are available from April to September on the hotel's private yacht which is crewed by owners Anne and Ken. This is indeed a magical experience.

Make sure you don't miss out on the deliciously, dramatic Duisdale House Hotel.
